CCTime

Getting paid by the hour requires you to log your working time and monitor the time you spend on each task during the day. Moreover, such an application can help you get more productive and comply with all your deadlines. CCTime serves exactly these two purposes.

Designed with simplicity in mind, CCTime runs in the system tray, being readily accesible whenever you need it. In other words, the application is active in the background, so that it does not interfere with your work by causing interruptions.

To avoid distractions from the current task, it is configured to automatically hide its main window while not in use. However, you can pin it to the desktop to take a look at the timer at all times.

Working with CCTime is very easy. Adding a new task to the list only requires two clicks. In fact, the application’s name comes from “Click-click time”, because two clicks all that is takes to register a new task. You just have to press the “Plus” button to add a new row and assign it a task. The order of the tasks can be easily changed using the arrows in the main interface.

CCTime enables you to track as many tasks as you need.  Once every 15, 30 or 60 minutes, you can add the extra time you spent on the task. Unfortunately, this is not done automatically. On the other hand, you can see how much of the time in a working day you have spent and how much you have left (unaccounted to a task). A weekly report can be generated with a click.

CCTime provides a simple means of monitoring the time you spend on daily tasks during business hours. It is easy to use and does not tamper with your work, which is a plus. Nevertheless, it does not track the time spent on a task automatically.

Configuring the behavior of CCTime is rather easy but instead of a standard Settings window, you get a text file that you can modify as you please. Although all the options are intuitive, this might not be as convenient to regular users as a graphical interface for the Settings section.
